PS3 owner can now make calls from and to any phone number using Jajah's callback technology which has been ported to the PS3.
In a posting on the company's blog site, co-founder, Roman Scharf, says that the port of Jajah to the PlayStation Portal some weeks ago "got so much attention that we went to work on optimising the experience and on bringing the solution to other consoles.
According to Scharf, "Jajah for gamers works very much like the original Jajah Web - our web-based solution - but it has been specifically designed for the game consoles. Existing Jajah users who go to play.jajah.com, will see their Jajah address book, their account information and a new game-friendly design and user interface."
Jajah launched in February 2006, as a service available from standard web browsers. Users enter play.jajah.com in a web browser They then enter their own phone number as well as the phone number of the person they are calling. By clicking the 'call' button, Jajah initiates the call. According to Jajah "In seconds, your phone will ring. At the same time, your friend's phone will ring. You both answer and you talk. The service is not free, users must first, but Jajah claims costs are well below standard call charges. Jajah functionality will also be available on the iPhone.{moscomment}
