NASA officials say astronomers using the Hubble space telescope have found "a ghostly ring of dark matter in the cluster CL0024+17."

This is the first cluster to show a dark matter distribution that differs from the distribution of the galaxies and the hot gas, and is described as "the strongest evidence to date that dark matter exists."

Further details will be released on Tuesday May 15.{moscomment}
