Digital Products Group has announce the official release of the Beyonwiz brand in Australia, with the Beyonwiz DP-S1 Personal Video Recorder launched in Melbourne today at the Harvey Norman Electrical National Conference.

The DP-S1 is a dual tuner high definition Personal Video Recorder with an onboard 200GB hard disk drive allowing users to pause and rewind live TV as well as record two high definition channels simultaneously while playing back a previous recording or network content. It also includes a DVD Player that up converts to high definition plus a home media centre that streams video, music and photos via Ethernet, wifi, external hard drives or the internet.

The device will also support IceTV's Australian electronic program guide as well as IceTV's free remote scheduling service, PIMP (Personal Interactive Media Planner). IceTV is also preparing to launch a video on demand service, which will initially only work with Windows Media Centre PCs but will be expanded to PVRs that support IceTV.

Digital Products Group will be demonstrating the DP-S1 when the Harvey Norman Expo opens to the public on Saturday May 12 at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre. The DP-S1 retails for $1599.
