Freshtel says that V2 would also provide the foundation for enhanced product functionality. "Freshtel will be rolling out new network features such as high definition sound, server based conferencing, mobile Internet telephony applications, SME services, improved account management and reseller features." Freshtel announced last September that it was gearing up to enable 3G handsets to be used to make VoIP calls over its network. The company said it had completed internal trials of software that embodied "sophisticated functionality with features such as real-time account balance, contact lists, multiple numbers for contacts, messaging functionality, and diversion features via web interface." However this week, six months after that announcement, Warner was still not prepared to give any indication of when this might be launched. The company has been in something of a hiatus in recent weeks following the departure in January, after only three months in the job, of CEO John Butkiewicz. Warner, who has been acting in the role since then, said the company was close to drawing up a short list of candidates. He said he had not applied for the, Melbourne-based, position as he needed to stay in Sydney.{moscomment} |
