According to Cognos officials, the application takes advantage of BlackBerry features including vibration and ringtones. "This version of Cognos 8 Go! Mobile uniquely addresses the needs of joint RIM [BlackBerry creator Research In Motion] and Cognos customers who require mission-critical BI information delivered directly to their mobile workforce," said Leah MacMillan, vice president of product marketing, Cognos. "It expands the reach of our proven BI capabilities by empowering employees to securely monitor the pulse of the business remotely and act on key business information in an informed and timely manner." RIM officials welcomed the arrival of Cognos's product.
