ProfCast is a well-regarded application for creating podcasts of lectures and similar events by recording the audio and synchronising the appearance of Keynote or PowerPoint slides. The latest version adds some useful features.

"We started from the beginning, rewriting the entire application to provide a more flexible recording and podcast publishing solution," said David Chmura, chief instigator at Humble Daisy.

New features include sharing as .m4a or .mov files, the inclusion of ID3 tags for all share types, and completely updated help plus a Getting Started guide. Furthermore, ProfCast's project documents are now completely self contained.

Improvements and bug fixes include revised tool tips and better compliance with RSS standards.

ProfCast 2.1 costs $US29.95, and is a free update for owners of version 2.0.

System requirements include Mac OS X 10.4.x or later, plus Keynote 2.0 or later or PowerPoint 2004 or later. iWeb and GarageBand integration requires iLife '06 or later. ProfCast is a Universal Binary.{moscomment}
