Konami announce the perennial voice behind Solid Snake, actor David Hayter has presented himself for another dose of Metal Gear action.

Metal Gear Solid 4:Guns of the Patriots is the full name of this latest instalment, and inevitably it will now feature the recognisable voice acting talents of David Hayter in the title role.

Ironically, given Hayter has been doing this kind of thing since 1979, Solid is making his appearance as an aging and somewhat exhausted Solid brought out of semi-retirement and thrust into a world of warring corporations.

“I couldn't be more excited about this game. What I've seen of Metal Gear Solid 4 has absolutely blown me away. To bring the focus of the story back to Solid Snake, and to work with Kris Zimmerman and many of the amazing actors that provided iconic voices for the previous games, is like coming home,” said David Hayter. “I’m so proud and grateful to have been involved with Mr. Kojima on this legendary video game series for nearly a decade. This game is going to plunge players into the ultimate Metal Gear Solid experience. And personally, I can't wait to play it.”
