Half a million Telstra customers will soon start receiving a single monthly bill for their Telstra services, in the first of several initiatives as Telstra progresses its five-year IT systems transformation.

Telstra's group managing director, consumer marketing and channels, David Moffatt, said the move was the first of several new billing initiatives that were part of the company's transformation project, with a new bill format also set to launch in the months ahead.

At Telstra's October 6 2006 investor briefing Telstra COO Greg Winn, was asked when the first major impact of Telstra's IT systems transformation would be felt. He said: "Our first drop is the consumer drop which is in the late third quarter of [calendar 2007], and then we are going to be moving millions of accounts at a time [onto new systems]."

Moffatt said this latest transformation milestone was a perfect example of Telstra's new market based management approach delivering services customers need and want. Customers will be notified of the changes and can opt-out of single bill or the new bill format at any time by calling 132200.{moscomment}
