Scott Sobel Joins NCR as Vice President of Business Development and Government Affairs for Asia |

Dayton, Ohio – Underscoring NCR Corporation’s (NYSE: NCR) continued investment in Asia, the company today announced that Scott Sobel has been named vice president of business development and government affairs, representing NCR’s interests in the region.
Sobel, who will be based in Singapore, will oversee business development, strategic alliances, and mergers and acquisitions focused on expanding NCR’s self-service businesses in Asia. He is also responsible for building public-private sector cooperation, focusing on the fields of information technology standards and security. He joins NCR from Motorola (formerly Symbol Technologies, Inc.) where he led business development and global alliance initiatives supporting their wireless infrastructure, mobile computing and RFID business units. While at Symbol, Sobel was credited with establishing Symbol’s service provider channel. Previously, Sobel was a member of the founding team at Net2Phone, Inc., overseeing marketing and business development. As a pioneer in IP telephony, Sobel was responsible for the first Internet telephony integration partnerships with AOL, MSN, and Yahoo!. Additionally, as the vice president of broadband services, he launched Voiceline™, the first broadband Internet telephony service. Sobel holds a bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University.
