Sony has given out the latest PlayStation Portable firmware with performance enhancing abilities for the handheld device.

Version 3.30 of the PSP firmware is out and includes some enticing enhancements for the portable machine.

An increase in the maximum resolution of video files that the PSP can play back as well as a neat new thumbnail system for PS3 stored videos.  There are some changes to the display of RSS fed items as well.

There is a new “Disc Read Speed” option giving the PSP a boost to load times for current games (Yay!) as well as those running using the PSone emulator built into the PSP
