Apple Leopard ready to pounce with Spring E-mail

It appears that Taiwanese rumour site Digitimes has once again dug a bit of a hole for itself by incorrectly pronouncing a four month delay in the release of new Mac OS Leopard. Jupiter Research analyst Michael Gartenberg says in his blog that Apple has confirmed to him that Leopard is ready to pounce in Spring - that's before June folks.

"Reports coming in that Leopard's delayed until sometime in October. Just spoke with Apple who confirmed the reports are wrong and Leopard is still scheduled to ship in this spring as they previously announced. The rumor mill is wrong again," says Gartenberg in his blog.

Some Apple watchers say that the Apple World Wide Developer's Conference in San Francisco on June 11 is the place where Leopard will be unveiled. Not to be picky, but that's already into Summer, unless you follow the true solar cycle where Summer begins on June 21 solstice.

Anyway, the hypothesis that delaying Leopard to allow Apple to implement Vista integration makes about as much sense as delaying iPhone to allow Zune integration.{moscomment}
