Sony Ericsson has introduced a new 3G Walkman phone, the W660 that comes in two colours - Record Black and Rose Red - and with two snap on speakers for playing music out loud.

The speakers are powered from the phone battery so are unlikely to be able to deliver significant volume without rapidly draining this. However the phone also supports Bluetooth audio streaming, enabling music to be sent wirelessly to a more powerful playing device.

The W660 Walkman phone can store up to 470 full-length songs (in eAAC+ format) on the included 512MB Memory Stick Micro M2. This can expanded with an additional 1GB Memory Stick that will hold up to 1,000 tracks. The phone is also able to accept and display RSS feeds and comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera and picture blogging capability enabling photos to be easily uploaded to a personal blog site

The W660 Walkman phone is a UMTS 2100 and GPRS 900/1800/1900 device and will be available in selected markets from Q2 2007. The Snap-On Speakers, MPS-75, will be available globally from Q2 2007. {moscomment}
