Some sections of the IT media have dubbed 10.4.9 a 'megapatch' because it addresses more than 40 vulnerabilities including several publicised by the Month of Apple Bugs and the Month of Kernel Bugs. But 10.4.9 isn't all about security - many functional improvements are included. Click here for iTWire's full report on Mac OS X 10.4.9. Alongside 10.4.9, Apple also released iPhoto 6.0.6, a minor update to the consumer photo-management application. The announcement was vague, saying only that the update "addresses issues associated with EXIF data compatibility and Photocasting." But in a separate security announcement, Apple said the photocasting issue was the one featured during the Month of Apple Bugs - a maliciously crafted photocast could cause the execution of arbitrary code. Download the iPhoto 6.0.6 update via Software Update or Apple's web site.{moscomment} |
