My Net Fone targets SOHO SME VoIP market with Linksys ATA E-mail

My Net Fone says that, because the MNFSPA2100 supports remote provisioning and dynamic, in-service software upgrades, "MyNetFone will be able to provide efficient post-sales service and support to ensure maximum availability to its customers who demand reliable phone services for their homes and businesses."

Remote provisioning will represent a significant improvement on My Net Fone's current ATA, the NetComm V-100. Sugo said: "We don't expect the Linksys box to cannibalise our V-100 sales which are very much for the home market where it is selling quite steadily. And we will not be selling the Linksys unit through the same channels: it won't be going into the likes of Harvey Norman."

The My Net Fone announcement came on the same day as the announcement by Optus of a hosted IP telephony service for SMEs using Linksys CPE. Sugo said that, as far as My Net Fone was aware, this was pure coincidence. "We did not know about the Optus deal. We have been working on this for several months because of the customisation, testing and integration into our softswitch and support systems that was required."{moscomment}
