The lunar eclipse is a once in a blue moon event, and if you missed it, you’ve got one more chance to see it happen in 2007 – but you’ll need to be in or travel to Australia, New Zealand or Alaska for an amazing view!

Yesterday’s lunar eclipse has wowed the world, with the red moon and actual eclipse effect of the Earth’s shadow covering the moon regarded as one of the most spectacular by astronomers and lunar experts in 15 years.

It was untroubled by the volcanic ash of past lunar eclipses, with clear skies granting a glorious view best seen by Europeans, Africans and those in the Middle East.

Once upon a time, a red moon signaled a bad omen for civilizations past, and even in our modern times, some astrologers, prognosticators and fortune tellers predict bad times ahead, while others says the lunar eclipse is a good omen.

But whatever the truth behind superstitious beliefs, which if you believe them all will end up being an each-way bet, there’s still one more chance to see a lunar eclipse in 2007.

It will be in the places that missed out on the full show some just experienced, meaning those in parts of Australia, New Zealand and Alaska will have the chance to experience the eerie red glow of the moon.

So if you want to see it, or see it again, mark your calendar and get ready to be in the right place on August 28th - these things only happen once in a blue moon, after all!
