At the Games Developers Conventions in San Francisco today, Microsoft announced a new incentive to get creative game minds up and working.

Open to prospective XNA developers, Microsoft are encouraging garage game developers to come up with something to be published on Xbox Live Arcade, and receive US$10,000 for their toil.

Called Dream-Build-Play contestants can vie for around US$40,000 in prizes to be awarded to 20 winners.  Prizes are being sponsored not only by Microsoft, but also Alienware, AMD, Autodesk and Softimage.

Culminating in the grand prize of the publishing contract and US$10,000 this is Microsoft delivering on their promise to promote the concept of encouragement to hobbyists and professionals alike.

The contest closes on July 2, so get coding, details at www.dreambuildplay.com{moscomment}
