Mac OS X users appear to be reporting a larger than usual proportion of problems with the download and installation of the 10.5.6 updater released this week. It appears that in the automatic updater is taking longer to work than some users expect.

After weeks of anticipation, Mac OS X 10.5.6 has arrived to fix a wide-ranging set of issues, including wireless connectivity and multiple security flaws. A corresponding security update for 10.4 Tiger has also been released.

Yet another would be Mac cloner has shelved plans to bring a product to market amid claims the whole thing was a misunderstanding. EFiX USA planned a family of high-performance PCs that could be used to run Mac OS X with the aid of an optional extra, but later reversed its decision in a highly public turnaround.

Mac cloner Psystar has squeezed ahead of a court-imposed deadline to amend its counterclaims against Apple after having its original countersuit tossed out of court. Apple's original suit against Psystar alleged copyright, trademark and trade dress infringement; trademark dilution; breach of contract; and unfair competition.
