There have been rumblings that Microsoft was preparing a response to Apple's "I'm a Mac... and I'm a PC" ads. Now, the Windows maker's secret weapon has been revealed: Seinfeld.

The problem with online music stores in Australia has been that they force a tradeoff between full coverage of the major labels, or DRM schemes that prevent buyers listening to their purchases on whatever device they choose. Telstra's BigPond Music store has reached a deal with the big four labels allowing it to offer unprotected MP3s.

When Jonathan Zdziarski found a clue suggesting that Apple's iPhone firmware included a mechanism for disabling applications that appear on a hit list maintained on the company's servers, the conspiracy theorists came out in force. But as the saying goes, "just because you're paranoid, that doesn't mean They aren't out to get you."

Can we please get a sense of proportion about the various issues being bandied around concerning MobileMe? Everyone from Steve Jobs down realises the rollout was a disaster, but some of the whining is becoming tedious.

Investigation of the coverage of Google Street View of upmarket parts of Melbourne seem to show that the some of the more swanky areas have not been photographed. Is this because the rich get the privilege of privacy or mere coincidence?
