Vodafone nicely slices international roaming prices – cool!

Vodafone is proactively slicing the price of international mobile roaming charges, which consumer or business travellers overseas on the Vodafone network will surely love, with a special deal for China during August and the Olympics. It looks very impressive and I can’t seem to find any hidden catches, despite trying!!

 
Nintendo: Devs knew about Wii MotionPlus, more storage coming

One of the big criticisms of Nintendo’s E3 announcement of the Wii MotionPlus add-on for more accurate motion control is that it kept the announcement to itself, leaving developers to learn about it through E3 – but it turns out that’s not quite the truth. An added storage option for the Wii is also being worked on!

An Austrian government official has noted is it “no problem for them to listen in on Skype conversations” according to a news report. Does this mean Skype’s telephony services can be bugged by government officials, despite Skype’s apparent denials this is possible or is occurring?

In a previous article I looked at the new Optus ‘yes’ Timeless plans, looked at the then “Optus Mobile Fair Go Policy” and deduced there were timed limits, but Optus has now belatedly updated its Policy and says there are no limits - for consumers. What has an Optus spokesperson specifically told me?

eBay rebels take PayPal issue to the Reserve Bank of Australia

It’s a timely warning, but you can be certain that horror stories of massive data charge bills will inevitably surface anyway!

When is an unlimited plan NOT an unlimited plan? When it’s timed, has limits and exclusions which are listed in the fine print for you to discover, probably when it’s time to pay the bill. Australian Government further delays “National Broadband Network”

With any Australian fibre-based broadband network still up to 5 years away, the date of completion just got extended by at least 6 months as the Australian Federal Government extends the time for “robust proposals” to be submitted for consideration. As usual, the Federal Opposition is outraged!
