Microsoft’s “Engineering Windows 7” blog has announced that the UAC
prompts in Vista are being worked on in Windows 7 to reduce them, make

The rumours of an Apple event to release new MacBooks on October 14

It’s all over the news – Asus is launching the slimmest netbook that
comes close to challenging the MacBook Air in sleekness and slamming it
in price, but certainly not in power, screen or keyboard size, while
being pretty pricey all its own. Won’t 2009 be the year of a zillion

Optus has officially gone mad with its announcement that pre-paid
wireless broadband pricing is actually going up in price – unless it’s
an oddly clever way for Optus to reduce the heavy load on its
overburdened 3.5G network. QueTF?!

Telstra has finally announced that its network will be capable of
reaching “peak” speeds of 21Mbps, but just as there are no 14.4Mbps
devices on the current 14.4Mbps “peak” capable network, we won’t see
any 21Mbps-class devices anytime soon, either.

Ah, Linux! Is there anything it does that can't also be done with Windows? Linux is a great Windows alternative, but with hundreds of millions more Windows users and thus a much larger potential user base, there’s no need to change entire operating systems to do simple stuff like surf the Internet, write documents and calculate taxes. And hey, Windows can ALSO help you to look after your health and well-being, including getting you off cigarettes and avoiding repetitive strain injury.
