Stallman, others object to Oracle's MySQL ownership E-mail

Two organisations, along with Free Software Foundation head Richard M. Stallman, have written to the European Commission, asking that Oracle not be allowed to acquire MySQL as part of its larger acquisition of Sun Microsystems.

IBM and Ubuntu have set themselves up squarely inn Microsoft's cross-hairs. A day before the launch of Windows 7 in the US, Canonical, the parent company of Ubuntu, and Big Blue have announced a deal to sell cloud- and Linux-based desktop packages in the US.
