eBay launches lobbying campaign aimed at the European Parliament, arguing that EU laws damage trade. In a wonderful display of thumb suck sulking, eBay complains that traditional retailers are exploiting the rules to benefit their business. Well duh!

A new crime of 'communicating indecently' covering both email and text messaging has been announced in Scotland. Randy Scots who send messages of a sexual nature could face up to 10 years in jail as a result of the new Sexual Offences (Scotland) Bill.

The University of New South Wales, in conjunction with NICTA, has won first place in an international technology competition. With a Linux powered robot that can play the clarinet. The team beat off stiff competition from a Dutch guitar playing robot and Finnish robot pianist to win the Artemis Orchestra competition.
