The real court case between the record company started by The Beatles, Apple Corps, and the computer company started by Steve Jobs and Steve Wosniak, Apple Computer, was settled out of court 15 years ago. Back then, Apple Computer did the right thing and paid Apple Corps $26 million for the right to continue to use its logo in peace.

Sony is to unveil the latest technological marvel of the games console era, the PlayStation 3 at the Mecca of games shows, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which kicks on Wednesday 10 May in Los Angeles. However, the thing that's most interesting about the PS3 is not it's game playing abilities but a device that's incorporated called a Blu-ray high definition video player. Hopefully the world will be able to see that at E3.

Chip maker Intel, which once made an art form over branding its chips sequentially, appears to be returning to its roots with the word that the second iteration of its new dual processing core line will be dubbed Core 2 Duo. The Core 2 Duo range will include the Conroe desktop chips and Merom notebook processors, and is set to take over from the Pentium range.

Although the financial details remain undisclosed the original amount $200 million to $400 million, as reported last week, is believed to be in the ball park of the purchase price. Massive’s technology for weaving dynamic, relevant ads into video games will extend next-generation advertising across Microsoft properties and beyond.

AMD gains dramatic as Intel fights antitrust case PDF E-mail

Intel has struck back in the US District Court of Delaware over the antitrust allegations levelled against it by rival chip maker AMD. Meanwhile, AMD continues to increase its marketshare at Intel's expense to the point where the general consensus is that AMD now has broken through the 20% barrier, a gain of more than 4% is the past year.

A clear majority of internet users are against Microsoft making its Live Search product the default search box in the new version of its Internet Explorer browser IE 7.
