Acer Computer Australia has won a National Australia Bank (NAB) contract to supply PCs and notebooks over a twelve month period - a contract claimed to be the largest corporate contract in Australia for 2006. According to the company, its local facilities tipped the balance in its favour.

Security vendor Symantec Corp and KAZ, Telstra's ICT and IP services subsidiary, have announced an exclusive partnership for KAZ to offer what is claimed to be the world's first Symantec Operational Services to the Australian market. KAZ and Symantec aim to provide to an overall security services solution to organisations, encompassing IT and regulatory compliance, minimising business impact of information security threats, and reducing overall security risk.

SingTel Optus-owned IT services provider Alphawest has been appointed to a panel of vendors to provide a range of implementation services for the web content management and electronic document and records management solutions (EDRMS) that the Queensland Government is implementing for all of its agencies. It is a multi-year contract with an option for extension and the agencies will be implementing their solutions over the coming five years.
