US private equity firm makes $315m cash bid for Mincom

Australia's largest home grown software company Mincom Limited will be acquired by US-based private equity firm Francisco Partners in an all cash transaction valued at A$315 million. The sale means that ownership of one of Australia's most important international IT players will pass into foreign hands.

Leading real estate group Mirvac has selected a locally developed facilities access management system to supervise the activities of contractors on its sites throughout Australia. Hostworks signs $2.5 million online deal with Channel 10

BitTorrent, developer of the peer-to-peer file sharing protocol that has just secured $US20m of new funding, has acquired µTorrent, developer of a client software that implements the BitTorrent protocol and says it plans to incorporate a BitTorrent client in TVs. mobile phones and other non-PC platforms.
