He will report to Frank Mellish, general manager, sales and marketing. Mr Dutch joined Konica Minolta in 1994 and, prior to being promoted to the new role, he was sales manager for the Adelaide branch. |

Security specialist Cybertrust has appointed Joe Lombardo as Asia Pacific marketing manager. Lombardo was formerly Asia Pacific marketing manager with MessageLabs and his expertise includes strategy development, financial modeling, direct marketing including direct mail, DRTV, telesales, events, customer management and retention, segmentation analysis, new product development, project management and team leadership. Former Cybertrust marketing manager Jennie McLaughlin has been promoted to general manager commercial sales with responsibility for all non-government customers in the Asia Pacific region. Before joining Cybertrust in 2004, McLaughlin worked jointly for ActivCard and VeriSign in business development, and was also previously employed by Optus in product marketing. |

Web hoster destra Corporation Limited (ASX:DES) has appointed for Netscape Australia managing director Clive Mayhew to the newly created role of General Manager of its media subsidiary, destra Media. Mayhew is known in Australia for his high profile roles as Netscape’s founding managing director and Solution 6’s group marketing director. In 1999, he was recruited to work in America with Internet Music company CDNOW running the international operations. He also launched the Chello iTV commercial relationships within Europe. Since his return to Australia in July 2005, Mayhew has been consulting to internet company Realestate.com.au helping develop its New Zealand operations. |

Consumer electronics company LG Electronics Australia has aappointed a new managing director, Daniel Shin, who commences his role on 30 January. Mr Shin was previously director of sales and marketing, Appliance Division, LG Electronics USA and has spent 15 years in overseas markets including Korea and Spain. Mr Shin's appointment follows the departure of Mr UC Hwang, who returns to Korea after his two year tenure as managing director of the Australian office. |

Business optimisation software vendor, Mercury Interactive, has appointed Graham Sowden as president of Asia Pacific, based in Sydney. Sowden has served as managing director for Mercury's Australia operations since 2000. He has more than 16 years of experience in the enterprise software and technology industry. Prior to Mercury, Sowden was managing director of Progress Software, a provider of embedded database software technology, for two and a half years. Prior to joining Progress Software, Sowden was a ten-year veteran at Fujitsu (UK) where he headed up various customer support, sales management and general management roles. He joined Mercury in 2000 to lead its Australian operations. In his new role, Sowden will oversee the APAC region, not including Japan. He replaces former Japan and Asia Pacific president Wilson Tan. |

Enterprise applications provider SSA Global has appointed Graeme Riley as managing director, SSA Global Pacific Region. Mr Riley will report to Jeremy Goddard, vice president, South Asia Pacific, SSA Global. Mr Riley held the former position of general manager for SSA Global New Zealand. He joined SSA Global in January 2004 as general manager for SSA Global New Zealand and has over 30 years of experience in IT management. He began his career at Computer Consultants where he was the operations manager providing national Mitsubishi dealer networks with IT solutions. From there he established his own computer bureau company called Valley Computers. Mr Riley then joined GEAC Computer Corporation as managing director, Asia/Pacific. He replaces Jeremy Goddard, who has been promoted to SSA Global’s regional vice president for the South Asia & Pacific region. |

Singapore-based Asia Pacific ISP, Pacific Internet, has appointed Teck Moh Phey as president and chief executive officer effective 16 January 2006. Mr Phey will take over from Hai Chwee Chew, a director of the board and member of its executive committee, who was appointed interim chief during the search for a CEO. Mr Phey has two decades of leadership and management experience in the IT and telecommunications industries. He is currently with Motorola where he served in various senior roles in the Asia Pacific region over the last 10 years, including Asia Pacific vice president and general manager for its government and enterprise mobility solutions business. He is a member of Motorola’s worldwide steering committees for radio products and wireless broadband. Prior to Motorola, Mr Phey rose through the ranks at Compaq to become the youngest general manager in Asia. |

Global internet security company SurfControl, has appointed Australian Dr Richard Cullen to chair the company’s new Technical Strategy Council. Located in Melbourne and reporting directly to SurfControl CEO Pat Sueltz in Scotts Valley, California, Dr Cullen will drive the technology direction for the US and UK based company. Cullen, who moved to Melbourne to take up the role, was most recently SurfControl’s technical manager of email products and technology. He has also held positions with Autodesk in Switzerland and Sophos in the UK. |

Konica Minolta Australia has appointed David Cooke to the position of general manager, direct sales, Australia. He will be based at the company’s North Ryde head office. Cooke brings 20 years of business imaging industry experience to Konica Minolta. Prior to joining the company he was with Canon Australia for 13 years and most recently held the position of State general manager for NSW / ACT within the Business Imaging Solutions Group. Cooke was responsible for more than 70 staff from the sales, marketing, professional services, administration and field services teams. He also worked for Rank Xerox for eight years where he held the position of state manager. |
