Global technology consultant Capgemini has appointed three senior staff in its Australian office. Craig Glindemann, Brian Wharton and Stephen McGuinness have joined the technology services practice. Glindemann joins Capgemini as a vice president, following a long stint with Capgemini in the UK. Melbourne-born Glindemann returns to Victoria to work in supply chain management within the manufacturing, retail and distribution sectors. Wharton joins Capgemini as a director, also based in Melbourne. He has worked as a consultant with many of Australia's largest corporations including Telstra, BHP Billiton and Orica. Wharton specialises in the development of information systems strategy and the management and delivery of complex technical solutions. McGuinness joins Capgemini's Sydney office as a director. Most recently a director at a boutique, consulting firm, Odessey Group Consulting, McGuinness previously worked at Coca-Cola Amatil and Reckitt & Colman. His areas of expertise include IT strategy development and supply chain and program management. |

Network and security solutions developer, Centennial Software, has appointed Howard Waterson as regional manager for its APAC operation. Waterson replaces Phil Hare, who established Centennial Software’s presence in the region over the past three years. Based in Sydney, Mr Waterson has over 20 years experience in the IT industry, having worked with PeopleSoft, Sun, Netscape iPlanet and IBM in the areas of security and identity management. Hare has decided to pursue other business opportunities. |

Business management applications vendor, Sage ACCPAC Pacific, has appointed Santiago Solimei as professional services manager, based in Sydney. Solimei has been involved with business systems for more than a decade in numerous countries. After commencing his career as an assurance consultant at Arthur Andersen in Argentina, he moved to Melbourne with Moor Stephens Technology seven years ago, where he worked as a risk management and internal audit senior consultant for three years. He then progressed into IT consultancy with the organisation in London, Edinburgh and Costa Rica. Most recently he headed the Microsoft Axapta division in Melbourne for three and a half years, where he was involved with assignments in the Australian, New Zealand, Chinese and Japanese markets. |

Web hosting services provider, WebCentral Pty Limited, a subsidiary of WebCentral Group (ASX:WCG), has appointed a new chief information officer, Alec Lawson, based in Brisbane. Before his appointment as CIO, Lawson had been providing consulting services to WebCentral over the past two months. Prior to that, he also provided consulting services to the not for profit sector in Queensland. Lawson spent three years as CIO of Queensland utility, Energex, and prior to that was the IT Manager at the City of Sydney during its preparation for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Lawson has also spent more than 13 years in senior IT executive positions in the UK financial services sector. During his time in the UK, Lawson was a member of the Information Systems Examination Board and an executive member of the IT Service Management Forum which developed the global IT industry service quality framework (ITIL) which WebCentral is currently deploying.

Business imaging vendor, Konica Minolta Australia, has appointed Frank Mellish to the newly created position of general manager, sales and marketing, Australia, based in Sydney. Mellish joined Konica Minolta in 2003. Prior to being promoted to the new position he was marketing director. Previously, Mellish spent more than a decade with IBM where he launched the Thinkpad Brand in Europe and was responsible for marketing PC products to the small-to-medium business sectors on a global basis. He also worked for CSC as the global vice president, marketing, based in Los Angeles. |
