VoIP technology developer and service provider, Freshtel Holdings has signed an agreement with the Hong Kong based Binatone Telecom Group to co-develop and deliver Internet telephone hardware that will be sold with Freshtel's Internet telephony services to the global mass market.

It sounds like the holy grail of radio communications: a technology that can carry very high bandwidth data signals at very low power over many kilometres using spectrum already occupied by conventional transmission technologies, but this is exactly what one US company claims to have achieved.

Storage solutions provider Brocade Communications Systems has appointed Greig Guy as account executive, based in Sydney. Guy joins Brocade with 24 years’ experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining Brocade, he spent 18 months as regional OEM sales manager at NCR. Previous experience also includes eight years at Hitachi Data Systems in a variety of roles, including SAN Alliance Manager and HDS Channel Director. He also spent ten years at Wang Computers. |

Former managing director of businesss process consulting firm UCMS Solutions, Mark Maddren, has been elevated to the position of chairman, Australia and New Zealand. Mr Maddren, a co-founder of UCMS, had been managing director from inception through to November 2005. As chairman, he will work with Steve Sparkes, the new managing director, and Nick Egerton, general manager of the company in New Zealand. |
