One of the problems with slot-loading optical drives is that they aren't compatible with 8cm discs. Apple thinks it has come up with a variety of schemes for adaptors that can be packaged within the dimensions of an 8cm disc in order to save shipping costs.

 
ASUS names Myer stores for Australian Linux Eee PC push E-mail

Taiwanese PC vendor ASUS has chosen Myer as its primary retailer for its new fast selling Linux sub-notebook the Eee PC. The Eee PC will be available for the Christmas shopping season at Myer Sydney from 1 December 2007 and Myer stores nationally from 2 December 2007, with a recommended retail price of AUD$499.
