Speculation is running high that SP Telemedia (Soul/TPG, ASX: SOT) is about to make a takeover offer for Pipe Networks (ASX: PWK). Both companies requested trading halts within minutes of each other on Wednesday 4 November and then requested suspension of their shares almost simultaneously on Friday 6 November.

In what it says is its biggest announcement in its 12 year history, Juniper Networks has unveiled: new silicon claimed to offer dramatic performance increases in its switching and routing products; new edge routers incorporating the new chipsets, a network application platform to enable Juniper and third parties to build applications on its Junos operating system; partnerships with key vendors to help it realise its vision, and a new brand identity to help it promote its sharpened focus on Junos and its expansion into the enterprise market.
