Pipe Networks has launched a blog site on its project to build its PPC-1 submarine cable link from Sydney to Guam, promising to be "as honest and as open as we can during the project and [to] keep you updated with the highs and lows of the project."

Telstra has worked with Alcatel-Lucent to lay a 9,000 kilometre submarine cable between Hawaii and Australia, giving up to 1.28 Terabits per second of connectivity between the two countries.

 
Pipe Networks teams with Kordia for new Aus-NZ sub cable E-mail

Only weeks after committing to build PPC-1, its planned submarine cable link from Sydney to Guam , Pipe Networks (ASX: PWK) has announced preliminary plans for a second cable connecting Australia to New Zealand to be build in conjunction with New Zealand communications and broadcast networks provider Kordia Group.

 
Southern Cross gets brighter E-mail

Capacity on the Southern Cross Cable Network has been increased with the lighting of another 260Gbps of capacity - 130Gbps on each of its two cables that connect Australia and New Zealand to the US mainland.

AT&T and Japan's NTT Communications have joined the six original members of the Trans-Pacific Express Consortium which is building a new 18,000km submarine cable between the Asia-Pacific region and the USA.
