Sierra Wireless debuts 900MHz HSPA embedded modem in Australia E-mail

Sierra Wireless, the company that supplies many of the external broadband wireless modems sold by Australian mobile operators, has chosen Australia to debut its new 900MHz HSPA embedded modem, its first 900MHz product, citing the 'world leading' 900MHz 3G network rollouts being undertaken by Optus & Vodafone.

When Nokia introduced the N96 in Australia at a press briefing this morning, photos of the device showing its keyboard were conspicuous by their absence. I couldn't help wondering whether Nokia wasn't preparing us for its keyboard-less touch screen phone dubbed the 'Tube' which, latest rumours say, is due within days.

 
Juniper's new firewall burns the competition E-mail

Juniper Networks has announced new multifunction security devices combining firewall, routing, intrusion detection and prevention and with a firewall throughput of 120Gbps, claimed to be six times that of the nearest competitor. They are also claimed to use 50 percent less power and take up 75 percent less real estate than the nearest competitor.
