The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is to set up a global database that will log products' declaring conformity to ITU standards. Juniper Networks has unveiled an addition to its Junos operating system that allows customers to directly program their networks of Juniper switches, routers and security gateways. It comprises the Junos Space network application platform and the Junos Pulse integrated network client designed to run on a wide range of end user devices, including the iPhone.

Juniper Networks has unveiled a new family of processors, Junos One, that will be embedded into a broad array of Juniper's future routing, switching and security products. It has also released new routers and router line cards incorporating the new chips, claiming dramatic performance improvements.

Forget all those claims from WiMAX and cellular operators bragging about their 4G wireless technologies. No 4G technologies exist today. The International Telecommunication Union has just started evaluating candidate technologies for the global 4G mobile wireless broadband standard. It and expects to announce, in October 2010 those chosen to qualify as "true 4G technologies" - and that’s official!
