Vodafone Australia, Cisco and the company behind the BlackBerry, Research In Motion (RIM) have teamed up to offer a one-stop shop communications service for small business combining fixed and mobile voice and data services, IP PBX, Blackberry and a converged fixed and mobile communications functionality. It will be sold, billed and supported by Vodafone on a fixed cost per month per user basis with no upfront fees.

Telstra is installing Cisco's TelePresence 'virtual reality' videoconferencing  rooms in the office of large customers as a fully managed service. In future, it will enable inter-company video conferences to be set up on the fly.

The Palm Centro will be the first smartphone available to Telstra prepaid  customers when Telstra introduces it on May 26. (The original version of this article said the phone would be available on Next G - it is not compatible with  the Next G network).
