Silicon Valley based IT research group, Springboard Research, has appointed Phil Hassey as its Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand. Based in Sydney, Hassey will report directly to Dane Anderson, Springboard’s CEO & EVP of Research. In addition to managing Australia and New Zealand, he will also be responsible for driving Springboard’s IT & Business Services research globally.

Lexmark Australia & New Zealand has announced the appointment of Rebecca Hill as Strategic Partner Manager for Western Australia. Hill has more than 20 years experience working in the IT industry in Western Australia. Prior to joining Lexmark, she held State and Partner Management roles at BenQ, Telstra, NetComm, Anixter and Mitsui Computer.

Computer Sciences Corporation has named Christiane Moloney vice president of Human Resources for CSC’s operations in Australia. Moloney, who joined CSC in 2002, will report directly to Mike Shove, managing director of CSC in Australia. Moloney, who has more than 25 years of experience in human resources, has held senior management positions at St George Bank, Advance Bank, Macquarie Bank and Telstra. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Post Master’s degree in Organisation Development.

McAfee has appointed Nigel Youlden as channel and SMB (small and medium business) manager to drive product sales into the sub-1000 customer market segment through the company’s ANZ channel partner network. Youlden will be based in Sydney. He has over 13 years’ experience in the IT industry having most recently worked as NSW state manager for Corporate Express Australia’s IT Solutions Division. He also previously held an account manager position at Dimension Data.

Integrated email and Internet content security provider Marshal has appointed Glen Phillips as Business Development Manager. Prior to joining Marshal, Phillips held the position of General Manager of Internet Sheriff, an Australian content security software provider. He has also held a range of senior sales roles in Telstra, WorldCom and NTT Australia.

Microsoft enterprise technology consultancy Avanade has appointed Mark Miller to the company as enterprise business solutions capability director for the Australian business, based in Melbourne. Miller has more than 10 years experience in the IT industry, specialising in the management and development of business software solutions with a specialty in Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management solutions.He moved to Australia six years ago from the US where he started his IT career working for Manhattan Associates. Whilst in the US, Miller focused on the Microsoft business intelligence solution set which has been the hub of his work for the past eight years. He has worked with two Microsoft Gold Certified partners since relocating to Australia.

Internet Security Systems Australasia (ISS) has expanded its presence within Australia with the appointment of two new business development executives and a senior security consultant. Cameron Tubb as Business Development Manager and Ian Gilchrist have been appointed Senior Security Consultants. Tubb brings 10 years IT industry experience to his role. Prior to joining ISS, Tubb worked for Trend Micro as a National Government Major Accounts Manager. He also worked for Citect as a National Account Manager. Ian Gilchrist has joined ISS as a Senior Security Consultant based in Melbourne. Gilchrist brings 15 years of IT industry experience to his role, including five years as a security specialist. Prior to joining ISS, Gilchrist held national senior engineering roles at TippingPoint and 3COM respectively. ISS has also appointed Luke Healey as Business Development Manager for the New South Wales (NSW) region. Prior to joining ISS, Healey held key public sector account management roles with both Juniper Networks and Cisco Systems.

Web security specialist, Websense, has made three appointments in Australia. All three new recruits report to Joel Camissar, country manager for Websense, Australia & New Zealand. Gareth Davies has flown in from Websense’s UK office to take up the role of territory manager for Websense in WA and New Zealand, based in Sydney, after five years with the company in various sales and business development roles. Steven Gross has been appointed systems engineer, Northern Region. He brings a decade of technical experience to Websense having spent the last six years at Citrix Systems as senior systems engineer, and previously worked for systems integrator, BCA-IT, as a post-sales systems engineer. Thomas Lavery has been appointed territory manager, Northern Region. Lavery’s IT career spans nine years in both the UK and Australia. Previously, he was a corporate account manager for Compaq, and since moving to Australia he has worked as an account executive at two major resellers locally: Software Spectrum and Data#3.
