The Australian Medical Association issued a big statement in May 2008. The AMA suggests that in order to combat obesity in the country additional taxes on unhealthy foods and subsidies on healthy foods are needed. What do you think?

According to a Missouri study, higher levels of alcohol dependency problems are developing within women, while related problems with men remain level. Thus, women are seen closing the gap in alcoholism as they rapidly approach male levels.

An international study confirms that obese adults have twice the number of fat cells than normal-weight adults. Fat cells decrease or increase in size with weight changes but remain constant in numbers during adulthood.

Researchers from Western Australia have combined the Golden Delicious apple and the Lady Williams apple to produce the Western Dawn apple, what will be trademarked as the “Enchanted” apple. What is really amazing is it doesn’t turn brown while you eat it.

 
NYC study suggests: Lower child asthma rates with more trees E-mail

A Columbia University study is lending credence to the idea that young children who live along tree-lined streets have lower rates of asthma than other children living in New York City.
