A 2005 survey by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), released in August 2008, states that 0.84% of the U.S. adult population has active epilepsy—and about 33% of these people are not getting adequate treatment for their condition.

According to a fifty-year study of drinking habits in the United States, Americans appear to be drinking less as they age, and to be switching from beer to wine. Unfortunately, the percentage of alcohol-related disorders was found to be about the same.

 
93% of fast-foods for kids found too high in calories E-mail

The U.S. nonprofit organization Center for Science in the Public Interest analyzed over 1,400 combinations of kid’s meals at 13 fast-food chains in the United States. They found that 93% of the meals contain over one-third of the total daily calories recommended for children aged four to eight years—an amount that is considered too much for one meal.
