WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The James Webb Space Telescope, intended to peer deep into the cosmos from beyond the moon, is progressing well in development and is on track for a planned June 2013 launch, officials said on Thursday.

HONG KONG, May 10 (Reuters) - Lenovo Group Ltd. (0992.HK: Quote, Profile, Research has signed an agreement with Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research to buy Windows, Office and other software suites for its personal computers in a deal worth as much as $1.3 billion.

SANTA CLARA, California (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. sees mergers as a way to fill gaps or enter new markets, mostly via small deals, but larger deals are also "conceivable," Chief Executive Steve Ballmer said on Wednesday.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - IBM (IBM.N: Quote, Profile, Research is starting a $1 billion-a-year investment program aimed at doubling the energy efficiency of its data centers and those of its corporate customers, the New York Times reported on its Web site on Thursday.
