ICT solutions provider Macquarie Telecom has appointed Larry Morgan as managing director, based in Singapore. Morgan has more than 25 years of experience in the global telecommunications services industry. He was based in Singapore as vice president and general manager of BT Infonet’s Asia-Pacific region for more than four years, where he managed 14 countries and achieved more than 400% revenue growth over a four-year period. Prior to joining Macquarie Telecom, Morgan served as President/CEO and was also a member of the Board of Directors with Virtela Communications, a North American Virtual Network Operator. Before joining Infonet, Morgan held several senior management positions in Sprint and AT&T after a career in sales with IBM.



Editure appoints general manager for education technology

Education software and managed IT services provider, Editure, has appointed Barbara Evans as the new Education Technology division General Manager, based in Melbourne. Ms Evans has more than 25 years experience in program management, training, and practice development. Her career includes six years at IBM’s business consultancy services arm, responsible for program management, business development and staff training across a diverse range of areas including CRM and Service Oriented Architecture.  She also led several of IBM’s strategic outsourcing activities. She has also had roles with DMR Consulting (now part of Fujitsu Consulting) and in the IT recruitment industry. Ms Evans' appointment is one of several senior executive additions to the team Editure expects to make following a recent organisational change after its merger with A.U.S.S.I.E, the US-based teacher professional development firm in April this year.

Storage provider Network Appliance has promoted Scott Morris to the new role of director, partner and public sector sales, NetApp Australia and New Zealand.  Prior to this appointment, Morris held the role for three years of Northern Region sales manager for NetApp, where he was responsible for sales and channel business in New South Wales, Queensland, ACT and Northern Territory. Before joining NetApp in 2004, Morris was sales director for Dell, where he held responsibility for large corporate business across Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, Morris worked as channel manager, NSW, for Compaq, and prior to that, held a number of other roles including various channel- and sales-focused positions within leading technology vendors and value-added distributors.

Accounting software group Sage Software Australia has appointed Kieran O’Shaughnessy to its Australian management team as partner sales manager for Sage Business Solutions Australia and New Zealand.  He will report directly to Sage Business Solutions’ Managing Director, Mike Lorge. Most recently, at SCO O’Shaughnessy held the position of regional director for Australia and New Zealand for seven years. Prior to this, he worked with Hypertec as general manager sales for Australia and New Zealand. O’Shaughnessy’s appointment follows the announcement in April that Steve Orleow has joined Sage as partner development manager responsible for identifying and bringing on new Sage partners.

During his time in London, he was Managing Director of Sysao Ltd, one of the largest Oracle partners in the UK.
