Google has upgraded its Google Apps Connector for BlackBerry that provides integration between Gmail, Google Apps' Calendar and Address book and BlackBerry handhelds.

IT infrastructure solutions provider, Avocent Corporation, has appointed Joanne Cooper as business development manager for Australia and New Zealand. Cooper has more than 20 years in the IT&T industry, with significant experience in sales and marketing, business development and channel management.  Previous business development manager roles have included Wang Global Australia and Texas Instruments Australia.  During the early 90’s, Cooper was European Marketing Manager for a leading Taiwanese Notebook Manufacturer Modern Computer Inc. Most recently, Cooper was at SingTel Optus joining the company as an ASP specialist, however her role was widened to encompass Managed IP Solutions and the e-Business division’s inCITE construction portal.

Sterling Commerce has appointed Brenton Dodd as client executive. Dodd will be responsible for business development and increasing awareness of Sterling’s multi-channel retail solution offering. Dodd has been involved in supply chain operations since 1980. He spent seven years at Caterpillar working within its local and international supply chain, inventory control and warehousing operations. In the late eighties Dodd worked for Intertrack, developers of the Pulse system and pioneers of radio frequency warehouse management systems technology in the Australian market. Prior to his tenure with Sterling Commerce, Dodd spent five years at IBM as a sales solutions consultant, where he provided customer solutions involving technology from IBM and its business partners.  Previously, he was at Dawson Consulting as a supply chain solutions specialist. Dodd is based in Melbourne and reports to Michael Vulcan.
