Wavelink appoints new ANZ sales manager

Wireless messaging dolutions provider Wavelink has appointed Richard Hudson as sales manager, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to his appointment, Hudson was employed at Able/Telenet where he managed its overall strategy in the development and expansion of its product portfolio and sales team. Hudson has also previously worked for NEC, Fujitsu, Alcatel, and Ericsson where he worked in the UK and Sweden. He began his career with British Telecom where he specialised in main and trunk exchange installation and maintenance before immigrating to Australia in 1979.



Dimension Data appoints new practice managers

Dimension Data has appointed Michelle Homes and Michael Harmelink as application integration practice managers for Queensland and New South Wales, respectively. Homes began her career at the SAS Institute Australia as a technical specialist, moving on to roles including Web developer for GIO, consultant and director at TekEds and Asia-Pacific pre-sales technical consultant for Intergraph. Most recently, Homes was the business development manager at Futrix Software Australia. Harmelink has worked in senior business development roles at IBM and Alcatel in Europe, with Microsoft in Singapore and both Avenade and Snapdragon in Sydney.



EDS appoints regional director of cards

Technology services group EDS has recruited Dee McGrath as Director of Cards for Australia and New Zealand. Ms McGrath was previously general manager of consumer and commercial cards for National Australia Bank where she helped steer the bank through regulatory and payment system reforms. During her six years with NAB, she was also head of marketing and product solutions in the cards division. Ms McGrath has worked in general management and marketing across multiple industries over the years and recently served on the board of Loyalty Pacific.



Intelledox appoints Peter Kazacos as chairman

Document creation software company Intelledox has appointed Peter Kazacos as chairman. Mr Kazacos is best known as the founder of KAZ, which he launched in 1988, listed on the ASX in 2000, and sold to Telstra in 2004. Intelledox is targeting international markets to capitalise on opportunities in the financial services industry in the United Kingdom, and the government sector in Singapore. Australian clients include: Australian Capital Territory Planning and Land Authority; Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services, ACT Government; and IP Australia.



EqualLogic appoints GM ANZ and ASEAN

Storage area network (SAN) solutions provider EqualLogic has appointed Chris Casey as general manager for the ANZ & ASEAN regions. Casey brings significant IT experience both within the storage market with over 20 years working in telecommunications and IT, with the last 13 in Asia. Prior to his role with EqualLogic, he spent several years in senior APAC positions at vendors such as Cosine Communications, Lucent and Datacraft. He also held senior technical positions at users such as Optus, Westpac and Sydney Water.



Mediaware appoints former military specialist

Australian digital video systems developer Mediaware has appointed Lester Sutton as Business Development Director. Sutton joins Mediaware from technology company Honeywell. Prior to Honeywell, he spent 27 years in the Australian military including stints on the ground in Kuwait, East Timor and Iraq. Sutton’s most recent military appointments were as Head of Analysis and Production for the Combined Intelligence Operations Centre in Iraq and Commander of Australia’s Joint Operations Intelligence Centre (JOIC). The JOIC had responsibilities for the provision of intelligence, wide-area maritime surveillance and targeting support to deployed elements of the Australian Defence Force and allied forces. His experience includes leadership, management and operations positions in intelligence, counter-intelligence, security, and electronic warfare. Sutton will be based in Canberra, where he will head up Mediaware’s Brindabella Business Park office.



NetComm appoints business development manager

Broadband hardware provider NetComm has appointed Beth Mackenzie as Business Development Manager, effective immediately. Prior to joining NetComm, Mackenzie spent eight years with the Australian Telecommunications Users Group (ATUG). She also acted as spokesperson on behalf of the end user in a number of telecommunication related issues. More recently, she worked at ISPHONE as National Business Development Manager to lead the charge in VoIP policy and regulatory issues, developing end user business, and educating end users about the benefits and features of VoIP.



CSC appoints new senior executive

Global IT outsourcer Computer Sciences Corporationhas appointed Darryl Thompson as vice president of Service Delivery for CSC’s operations in Australia. Thompson, who joined CSC in 1994, previously served as CSC’s Global director of Event Management Centres. He succeeds Gavin Larkings, who was recently named vice president of Service Delivery for CSC’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Thompson has more than 23 years of experience in the information technology (IT) industry, specialising in business operations. While with CSC, he has held a number of leadership roles in Australia as well as supported CSC’s global operations. Prior to joining the company, Thompson managed the Information Systems organisation at King Edward Memorial Hospital.



EMC appoints new client solutions manager

Brennan IT appoints product development head

Sims has over 10 years experience in product management roles in the IT industry, including Head of Marketing Programs with MCI International (UK) (formerly Worldcom), and most recently Cannon Australia where he was contracted to develop and launch Canon's strategy to move into Managed Services.



CQR opens New Melbourne office

CSC appoints VP of HR for Australia

Computer Sciences Corporation has named Christiane Moloney vice president of Human Resources for CSC’s operations in Australia. Moloney, who joined CSC in 2002, will report directly to Mike Shove, managing director of CSC in Australia. Moloney, who has more than 25 years of experience in human resources, has held senior management positions at St George Bank, Advance Bank, Macquarie Bank and Telstra. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Post Master’s degree in Organisation Development.



McAfee appoints channel and SMB sales manager

Youlden will be based in Sydney. He has over 13 years’ experience in the IT industry having most recently worked as NSW state manager for Corporate Express Australia’s IT Solutions Division. He also previously held an account manager position at Dimension Data.



Marshal appoints business development manager

Avanade appoints enterprise solutions director

Miller has more than 10 years experience in the IT industry, specialising in the management and development of business software solutions with a specialty in Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management solutions.He moved to Australia six years ago from the US where he started his IT career working for Manhattan Associates. Whilst in the US, Miller focused on the Microsoft business intelligence solution set which has been the hub of his work for the past eight years. He has worked with two Microsoft Gold Certified partners since relocating to Australia.
