According to a new Australian study, the 'at home' broadband market is set to reach $1.3 billion in access revenues by the end of 2005, growing by 36% over 2004. Industry revenues are forecast to reach $2.5 billion by 2010.

Privately held telco, Arrow Voice & Data, has appointed James T Dominguez as chairman of the board. Formerly founder and chairman of Dominguez Barry Samuel Montagu, and later SBC Dominguez Barry investment bank — now UBS Australia — Dominguez has considerable experience at board level. He holds advisory roles for a number of technology companies, including Cisco Systems Australia and Fuji Xerox. Dominguez also serves as non-executive director of a number of companies including ETrade Australia, Nestle Australia, O'Connell Street Associates, Tat Hong (Singapore) and WESBEAM Holdings.

Whatever we make think about the current management of Telstra, the recent behaviour of trios amigos, and the politics of the extraordinary farce that is now taking place in the public arena, one thing is clear. Over the past five years, at least, Telstra has been one of the most poorly managed large public companies in Australia and that's not Sol Trujillo's fault.
