While Microsoft's Robbie Bach talks up sales of Xbox 360, Nintendo sold 1 million Wii consoles in just 10 days. Judging by the activity on eBay and muggings in US streets, Sony may have achieved similar results if it had the stock on hand. For the past year, Xbox 360 has had no competition, yet it has struggled in Japan and has yet to reach 10 million units sold. Is it time for a price cut?

Global Wii sales have already passed the one million mark in the two weeks since its US launch, and it's onward to 2 million. My colleague Mike Bantick wants to wait until the PS3 launches into Australia before making a decision on which next-gen high def player to purchase. To heck with that, I say. Either choose a side like a good fanboy, or save up and buy both a PS3 and an HD DVD equipped Xbox 360 and have the best of both worlds NOW without some mythical unified player to wait for.

The Xbox 360 has been out for a year already, with developers having had plenty of time to get used to programming for it.
