Oracle to layoff more than 10,000 Sun staff: analysts

The US$7.4 billion acquisition of Sun Microsystems by Oracle Corp will result in layoffs of between 10,000 and 15,000 staff in the first two years, according to industry analysts. NEC Australia restructure, sheds 153 jobs

NEC has unveiled the new structure of its Australian business which will see the organisation divided into four business units - Unified Communications, Managed Services, Network Solutions and Display Solutions - and the restructure of its R&D operation to focus on commercial ICT technologies for both the local and export markets.
