I'm a big Ubuntu fan and a user. But can we please keep Ubuntu's momentum in perspective? Canonical is a small, privately held company. It's unclear how much revenue they produce. Red Hat is firmly entrenched on servers and growing nicely during a weak US economy.

Whoever it is that might be coming up behind, it's certainly not Oracle.

G'day,

There is a company called Terra Soft Solutions that produces a Linux distribution called 'YDL - Yellow Dog Linux’. This particular distribution is 100 percent compatible with Sony’s Playstation 3. I have installed it and used it... some of the major downsides include: Adobe’s flash player not available, and you might have some problems finding drivers for printers and other peripherals. Other than that, Linux distributions seem to be bulldozing ahead quite nicely compared to what they looked like a few years back... I suggest another 12 months development and many people will be very happy with YDL and UBUNTU (another LINUX distribution) as serious alternatives to Windows. But for now, Windows offers users global compatibility with maximum support from all the world’s software companies.
Cheers! :-) - Overseer
