Professor Lansner holds a Chair in the School of Computer Science and Communication at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). He also holds a position at the Stockholm University. Professor Lansner will explain some of his research using supercomputers to model the brain, which has allowed the simulations of networks with millions of neurons and billions of synapses. He will also discuss a European Research project that is developing microchips capable of high speed emulation of large neural networks.
