Sun appoints new marketing director ANZ

Sun Microsystems has appointed Paul O'Connor as the new marketing director of its Australia and New Zealand operations, based in Sydney. O'Connor was formerly director, partner, product and mid-market sales for Sun and a member of the company's Australian management team. Michael will step up to fill this role. Prior to joining Sun, O'Connor was regional director at listed payments technology specialist, Keycorp Limited, where he developed and managed its ANZ operations. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Digital Equipment Corporation in various senior positions including general manager of the PC Division and overall director of products and channels. O'Connor replaces Loraine Golden, who served as Sun's Marketing Director for 11 years. Golden, who resigned in July, is said to be taking some time out to read some good books, among other things.
