FHM International has appointed Australian mobile technology and content services specialist, MIA, to streamline the management, merchandising and delivery of FHM mobile content across its global operation, spanning over 30 countries.
The tiered implementation of services across FHM markets will provide a customised, direct-to-consumer mobile WAP portal, the MIA proprietary Media Village Platform (MVP) content management system and content provisioning tools, as well as local carrier integration.
In addition, MIA will provide FHM staff with on-the-ground training and ongoing support, to ensure each territory has the in-house tools, technology and expertise to manage their content supply, merchandising, billing and delivery process.
MIA is also providing FHM with a broad portfolio of content, including exclusive global mobile rights to international cover stars Victoria Silvstedt and Jennifer Ellison.
Richard Mergler, Global CEO, MIA, commented, “The media landscape is changing as new levels of interactivity between brands and their customers become possible through new technologies. Our partnership with EMAP underlines its commitment to mobile and serves as a ringing endorsement to the technical pedigree, reliability and scalability of the services we offer.”
Simon Greves, International Director of Men’s Magazines, Emap International, added, “Digital expansion is at the heart of our future global plans for FHM, and offering FHM readers across the world a first-rate mobile service is a key element of this strategy.
He continued, “Having reviewed a number of potential partners, FHM International are extremely happy to be partnering with MIA in this exciting digital venture. MIA’s content management tool has been utilised in a similar global fashion with other companies such as MTV, and FHM International believe MIA will put us in the best position to take advantage of the growing international market for FHM mobile content.
