Sanford Securities launches Sanford2GO

IWL Limited announced today that its online stockbroking business, Sanford Securities, has launched Australia’s first dedicated mobile share trading website for both 2G and 3G Internet enabled mobile phones and PDA’s.

Know as “Sanford2GO” the service is available to all existing Sanford members who own an internet enabled mobile device such as, but not limited to, an IMATE JASJAM, PALM Treo 750, SAMSUNG I601 (Blackjack) or a BlackBerry and allows them to trade both ASX listed equities and options as well as viewing live watch lists, stock quotes and managing existing orders.

IWL Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Otto Buttula said “Once again Sanford and IWL have demonstrated their desire to be the market innovator in the online share trading industry.

Sanford2GO frees our customers from their desktops by allowing them to trade whenever they need to, wherever they maybe. There is no need to download software and no need to set up a special account – you need only be a Sanford customer.

The new ‘mobile workforce’ now includes a range of people from executives through to those in constant transit, most of whom are ‘connected’ to the Internet via their mobile devices. With Sanford2GO, they now have the ability to trade ASX listed shares and options while they are on the go.

Sanford2GO will even be accessible on the new iPod touch as it has both a wireless LAN and a web browser. This mobility opens up a lot of options and allows us to provide the services our customers command”.

Existing Sanford Securities members can access the service by entering Sanford’s URL (www.sanford.com.au) into the web browser of their mobile device. Upon submitting their existing username and password they gain access to their individual portfolio details as well as order management.

There is no need to register to any additional subscriptions to execute trades however you must be a Premium Member (pay $9.95 per month or alternatively free if you execute two trades or more per month) to receive live pricing data. Contract notes remain at normal Internet rates, starting from $19.95 on selected transactions.

General Manager - Marketing, Wholesale & Retail Business, Mr. Ian Aspinall said “Considering the uptake of 3G services in Australia it was important for us to move our platform into the mobile internet arena to ensure our customers the best possible service offering.

With over 4 million 3G users in Australia you see more and more people everyday using mobile phones to respond to emails, read the news or simply just filling in time at restaurants, pubs or while waiting for appointments.

We don’t expect people to spend all their time trading stocks on a mobile phone or PDA, but we do anticipate that if they read a favourable news report or receive an SMS alert regarding a company announcement or price, they might just want to act on that information as soon as they can.

From today, Sanford2GO allows this to happen”.
