Websense Continues Australian Growth with Sales Engineer Appointment

Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN) today announced that it has appointed Alan Chan as Sales Engineer for Australia and New Zealand based in Sydney. Chan will be responsible for supporting training and regional customer delivery of Websense’s Web security, content filtering and information leak prevention solutions.

Chan joins Websense with 14 years’ experience in the IT industry and was most recently Sales Engineer with McAfee Australia where his accounts included the WA Department of Education, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Bunnings, OneSteel, Woolworths, Westfield, Boral and Telstra.

Prior, he worked as Technical Account Manager with Symantec in Singapore where his responsibilities included quality and performance of all solutions delivery throughout Asia.  This also included technical account management for major enterprise customers including the Singapore Ministry of Defence, the Singapore Exchange and the Development Bank of Singapore.  

Chan previously worked as a Principal Technical Account Manager with Symantec in Australia where his main focus was on supporting key enterprise security customers.  He has also worked as Systems Engineer for Logical Systems and as a Computer Technician with Acer Computer Australia.

Chan is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional, a Novell Certified Administrator and a Microsoft Certified System Engineer.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Computing from the University of Western Sydney.
